Prime Edge can provide an as-built CAD documentation by capturing all the details of your existing facility to ensure you know exactly what kind of building and space you have available. Whether you require a basic site measurement or a complete record of existing conditions, our team can meet your needs.

Specialists on-site will prepare detailed sketches and notes to record the physical dimensions and characteristics of the space. Depending on the client’s needs this may include materials and finishes, power and communications outlets, lighting and switches, HVAC, life safety and other elements. This information is then transferred to CAD production drawings.

Although floor plan drawings typically receive the most attention, many types of drawings can be created as needed, including elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, site plans, fire and life safety, and so on.

In order to provide the client an accurate basis from which to begin the planning process, it is vital to provide a maintainable drawing set. A systemized as-built CAD documentation portfolio, created from survey and available blue prints, can detail as little or as much as the client may need, from building structure, internal furniture and equipment layout, electrical and mechanical building services positions, IT and network cabling with associated outlets and much more.

Once created, the resulting drawing stock can be maintained to ensure that all services, organizations or contractors are provided with the latest information when performing tasks on building plant or services. Processes need to be established to ensure that change information is recorded by all of the involved parties. We can even customize our production services to adapt to your company's specific layer protocol to ensure that all CAD files will integrate with your existing CAD systems.

Prime Edge’ specialists conduct full measured surveys to validate existing building drawings or create new drawings where necessary. Our teams use a combination of traditional manual tape and laser measuring devices to ensure accuracy. Based on the client’s needs, we try to schedule our surveys outside of normal working hours to ensure minimum disruption to the client’s staff.

Resulting CAD drawings are created using standard industry techniques to our high standards and are presented in both hard-copy and digital storage formats. Alternatively they may be posted on the client's intranet, if available.

Prime Edge also incorporates digital photography as part of our on-site survey and documentation services. This added service is an excellent resource when reviewing existing building finishes and conditions. Many of our sketches include an accompanying digital photo as a quick reference.
Our digital photos can even be incorporated into a working CAD document which is an excellent advantage when reviewing a 2D floor plan. Links embedded in your CAD document can automatically retrieve photographs for viewing in your favorite web browser while you review the CAD document.
